Make a Difference Day.
For the fourth year, Assistance League® of Greater San Diego joined other national chapters in support of our Make A Difference Day local community book drive. Assistance League of Greater San Diego accepts donations of new books and /or money to purchase titles requested by teachers at schools that we serve. School partners this year include
Barnes & Noble booksellers support Assistance League of Greater San Diego by holding a BOOKFAIR at two of their outlets:
The BOOKFAIR is an opportunity to raise money through in-store and online sales during a designated time period. Fifteen percent of in-store purchases and twelve percent of online purchases will be donated to Assistance League of Greater San Diego in support of the BOOKFAIR project.
ALGSD’s BOOKFAIR was held between October 21st and October 30th at the two store sites and online at http://www.barnesandnoble.com/h/bookfairs. Using our ID# 11715042 insured that our Chapter received the cash benefit of each customer’s purchase during this time. Puzzles, toys, and games including Leapfrog all count toward BOOKFAIR totals. Purchases of Nook and Nook accessories count separately at the 5% level.
ALGSD volunteers greeted shoppers at our two locations, Hazard Center and Grossmont Center, on October 23rd and 24th from 11am to 4pm for a personal BOOKFAIR promotion. Copies of books requested by participating school teachers and librarians were available for purchase and customers were able to learn more about ALGSD’s great work in the community.
The ALGSD BOOKFAIR offers a great opportunity to do holiday shopping and benefit ALGSD Chapter’s Make A Difference Day local community book drive. The chapter invites family and friends of the organization to participate from wherever they are as the online purchases may be made from anywhere in the United States!
